We recently went to see I Can Only Imagine (great movie, more about that later) and finally got to see the trailer for Paul, Apostle of Christ. Paul is such a fascinating figure in the Bible as he turns from one of the greatest persecutors of the early church to one of its most powerful proponents.
Director Andrew Hyatt says he used only Scripture as a reference to recreate Paul’s life story in film and visually demonstrate two core themes:
- We are surrounded by evil, which can strike suddenly and without cause and
- Love is the only answer.
Imagine if we were as effective in our liberty as Paul was in his captivity.
It opens Friday, March 23. and I will be getting tickets! My daughter is getting married Saturday, so I won’t be watching any movies, but I am looking forward to seeing it Sunday or Monday. Stay tuned and I will tell you what I think next week!
You can also go to their website for more previews and to download discussion guides to go with the film.
